The Image Of Women in The Songs of “Superhero/Godfather of Broken Heart”

Abstract


This study aims to describe the image of superhero (godfather) of the broken heart and the  women in the lyrics of 10(ten) Didik Kempot songs.  The reason researchers chose the songs as the object of the study because a song is one form of literary work that is poetry. Besides that, these ten songs are very popular in Indonesian multiculturalism society. Even  small children are good at singing even though they don't necessarily know the meaning. It uses a qualitative approach with multiculturalism and Sara Mills critical discourse analysis (CDA) model. Research data in the form of vocabulary, phrases, or sentences showing the image of women were taken from in the lyrics. The results showed that the image of women can be seen from the position of subject-object, and writer-reader. From the subject-objects it was found about the image of women from some verses of the songs, where male actors as subjects and women as objects that describe that women as people who are the image of a traitor, stubborn, and materialistic to her partner / husband.
