Abstract

This study aims to represent a discourse of revocation of Article 9 of the Constitution 1947 through the television series Kamen Rider Build series in Japan. The discourse to revoke this article was conceived by Shinzo Abe when he was re-elected as Prime Minister of Japan in the second period, in2018. This Article 9 contains the removal of combat troops to support pacifism in the world at the direction of Douglas McArthur as Head of SCAP (Supreme Commander of Alliance Power Power ). In the end, Japan only had the Jietai / Self Defense Force (SDF) as a state security force, which in the end was considered Abe as an "abnormal state" because it did not have a security force to protect Japan. This discourse raises the pros and cons, especially from the LDP progressive group, but is also supported by conservative executive groups. This became a hot topic on the international political scene, which made America begin to re-maneuver to Japan to suppress this discourse.

Therefore, this popular issue was widely reported in the domestic and foreign media, and it was made into a parody in the Takarazuka theater, as well as other cultural products such as films, one of which was the Kamen Rider Build Television Series produced by Toei in 2017. The film represented a political phenomenon regarding remiliteration discourse in Article 9  during the second reign of Shinzo Abe. It can be seen through the symbols and elements that appear in the series. This type of research is qualitative with explanative type. The theory used is propaganda theory to determine the form and type of propaganda carried out in reality, and combined with semiotic Ferdinand de Saussure to display the symbols in the film, and the theory of representation of Stuart Hall to produce meaning. The use of interdisciplinary approach is deliberately used to enrich perspectives in the social science family, so that more valid research results are obtained.
