Abstract


Introduction: Knowledge, attitudes and practices about good nutrition in food handlers are important to pay attention to so that the food sold is of good quality. This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge, attitudes and nutritional practices of food handlers around elementary schools in Banyumas.

Method: This study used a cross sectional study design. Determination of the subject is done by multistage sampling method with the number of food handlers as many as 150 people. Data on characteristics, knowledge, attitudes and practices were obtained by interview.

Result: The study showed that more than 50% of the subjects had good nutritional knowledge, attitudes and behavior. The results of the Spearman correlation test showed that there was a relationship between knowledge and attitudes, and attitudes and practices of food handlers (p < 0.05). There is no relationship between knowledge and practice of the subject (p>0.05).

Conclusion: It can be concluded that there was relationship between knowledge-attitude and attitude-practice of nutrition among food handler. Nutrition education for food handlers needs to be carried out continuously as an effort to increase knowledge, attitudes and practices to produce safe and quality food.
