Abstract

Dentists are one of the professions that are at risk of contracting covid 19. Their work area is to examine the teeth and mouth, where we know that this area is a source of transmission of covid 19. This situation creates feelings of excessive anxiety every time doctors will provide medical services to patients. Anxiety is a condition of tension that creates a physical and psychological imbalance that affects the emotions, thought processes and conditions of an employee.Medical services are health services that must be provided by doctors to their patients. In an anxious condition, dentists will be less than optimal in providing medical services to patients. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate whether there is anxiety in dentists in providing medical services during a pandemic. The purpose of the study was to determine the distribution of anxiety levels in dentists, to determine internal and external factors that influence it and to develop alternative problem solving. The research method that will be used is an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. The sample was taken by incidental sampling method or a modest sample of incoming data with the target sample being the total population of 158 dentists spread throughout the Banyumas Regency. The data collection process will be carried out online by distributing the Google Form link to respondents. This research is expected to provide benefits for dentists in order to reduce their level of anxiety when providing medical services to patients. The research output targets are Scopus indexed international journals and national seminar proceedings. Keywords: anxiety, dentist, medical service, pandemic period
