Abstract


Introduction :Injury is the impact of external agents that will result in physical and mental damage to a person. Injuries are one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in children in the world. This can have an impact on psychology, disrupt the process of growth and development in the future, lead to disability, and can even cause death. The purpose of this study was to analyze Mother's Knowledge about Prevention of Child Injury.

Method :This research is a qualitative research with one group pretest-posttest design method with a sample of 35 mothers obtained through non-probability sampling technique. Data was collected using the Pre Post Questionnaire sheet. Data were analyzed using Paired Sample T-Test.

Results :The results of this study indicate a change in knowledge of 0.60% (SD±0.553) with a Value = 0.000, then a change in attitude of 0.714 (SD±0.458) with a statistical value Value = 0.000, and a change in behavior of 0.629 (SD± 0.490) with a statistical value Value = 0.000.

Conclusions :There is an increase in knowledge before and after education is carried out on respondents. This research is expected to be a reference, especially in the field of emergency nursing and disaster nursing as education to provide health education to the community both for children and parents on an ongoing basis.
