Abstract


Abstract

Background: Efforts to Improve Cognitive and Physical Ability of Kindergarten Students Through Rotating Ring Games at PKK Wates Bumiratu Nuban Kindergarten, Central Lampung. To improve children's learning outcomes, teachers must be skilled in teaching and also master the subject matter. The learning process requires good teaching skills because physical education learning really needs movement skills and a model approach in its implementation.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to use a rotating ring as a play-learning approach to improve the cognitive and physical abilities of group B children at PKK Wates Bumiratu Nuban Kindergarten.

Methods: The type of research is classroom action research with three cycles and each cycle has different activities. The first cycle is a simple game, namely carrying 1 ball, tossing 1 ball, shooting 1 ball into the ring, catching 1 ball, choosing the number of balls, determining the type of ball, pointing to the color of the ball, and the competition game inserting a lot of balls into the ring; The second cycle is a variation game, namely bringing 2 balls, tossing 2 balls, shooting 2 balls into the ring, catching 2 balls, choosing the number of balls, determining the type of ball, pointing to the color of the ball, and the competition game putting a lot of balls into the ring; and the third cycle is a competitive game and variations, namely each ball has a different size, different color and has a different number, carries a lot of balls, tosses a lot of balls, shoots a lot of balls into the ring, catches a lot of balls, chooses the number of balls, determines the type of ball, points the color of the ball, and the race game puts a lot of balls into the ring. The sample used in this study was a group of 32 children from PKK Wates Bumiratu Nuban Kindergarten Group B. Data collection in each cycle is carried out using an instrument for assessing the cognitive and physical abilities of kindergarten children. Data analysis technique using tabulation and percentage.

Results: The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in each cycle, namely: the first cycle by 25%, the second cycle by 31.25%, and the third cycle by 43.75%. The results of this study indicate that: (1) efforts to improve the cognitive and physical abilities of kindergarten through a rotating ring game with three cycles are proven to produce an effective learning process for group B children of PKK Wates Bumiratu Nuban Kindergarten, and (2) based on the average value, to improve outcomes. learning must be given appropriate treatment using a predetermined method.

Conclusion: Based on the analysis and discussion of the research results, it can be concluded as follows: Learning using rotating ring games can improve cognitive and physical abilities of children in Group B of PKK Wates Bumiratu Nuban Lampung. Learning with rotating ring games is highly effective in being used as a model of an educational approach to learning and playing for children's cognitive and physical abilities. Based on the conclusions of this study, the following suggestions are proposed: To the children of Group B Kindergarten PKK Wates Bumiratu Nuban Lampung Middle School to always strive to improve cognitive and physical abilities. To the Head of Kindergarten and fellow Kindergarten Teachers in the Bumiratu Nuban Sub-district, in order to be able to apply the learning of rotating ring games in their fostered kindergarten institutions. To the readers that this research is followed up in a wider direction, with a larger sample and different locations. In accordance with the results of the discussion of this study, the implication of this research for teachers is to develop the cognitive and physical abilities of their students by using a rotating ring game model. The rotating ring game model is an alternative learning method to develop children's cognitive and physical abilities by utilizing the environment and teacher's creativity. The teacher's environment and creativity can be made in such a way, so that it provides its own challenges for children to conquer.
