Abstract

The yard long bean (Vigna unguiculata subsp. sesquipedalis) production in Indonesia was decline year by year in one decade. One of efforts to increase yard long bean production is Plant Growth Regulator (PGR) utilization. Excessive usage of synthetic PGR  can cause negative effects,  therefore it is necessary to innovate natural PGR that is  environmental and human friendly. Stinky bean (Archidendron jiringa) has the potential to be a natural PGR  that can increase yard long bean production. The purpose  of this study was to determine the effect of stinky beans extract volume on the flower and pod formation of yard long bean. This research was conducted at PIAT UGM, Kalitirto, Berbah, Sleman DIY in  July – October 2021. Varieties (K1 = Kanton Tavi ; K2 = OR Hijau Star) and volume of stinky beans extract (D0 = Control; D1 = 10 ml; D2 = 20 ml; D3 = 30 ml)    were arranged in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. The results showed that the 20 ml of stinky beans extract had a significant effect to the     number of flowers and the number of yard long bean pods, pod weight per plant, and pod yield.
